The Asia Cup 2023 has been a mixed bag for the fans as the most heated game of the tournament has been affected by rain twice. Fans were frustrated when the Ind vs Pak reserve day match was delayed due to a wet outfield. Meanwhile, the Iceland Cricket Board have come up with a cryptic statement bashing the ACC president Jay Shah.
Rain played spoilsport in the first India-Pakistan clash on the 2nd of September which made the fans absolutely livid as the game was about to take a thrilling turn before the stop. In the first rain-hit game, India completed their innings and scored 266 runs in their 50-over quota. While the build-up of the second innings was being anticipated clouds started pouring down heavily in Kandy which later resulted in the match being called off.
The disappointed fans left the stadium in the hope that they would get the full action in the Super 4 stage. However things turned out to be even worse on Sunday when the Super 4 game was scheduled to be played between India and Pakistan.
After the successful completion of 24.1 overs of the first innings, rain hit the Super 4 clash between the arch-rivals at R. Premadasa Stadium. Although ACC (Asian Cricket Council) kept a reserve day on the next to the matchday, fans were absolutely furious as the Ind vs Pak clash was affected twice by bad scheduling.

Things didn’t look promising before the start of the resumed play on Monday as the outfield was quite wet due to heavy rainfall at Colombo in the morning. The play which was scheduled to be restarted at 3:00 PM (IST) was 1 hour 40 minutes delayed as the groundsmen were trying their hearts out to dry the wet patches left.
Meanwhile, the Iceland Cricket Board on Twitter took it as an opportunity to recall the time when the ACC president Jay Shah ignored their hosting request.
