Bangladesh skipper challenges the Indian Team

Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan was asked about his team’s chances before the clash against Team India to which he said that the Indian Team is the favourite to win this game.

Shakib replied to the question about the game against India on November 2 and said, “India is the favorites, they are here to win the World Cup but we are not, if we beat them then it’s an upset”.

Shakib’s statement is seen as a warning as it makes clear that the Bangladesh team will play freely and won’t have any pressure while the Indian Team cannot afford any hiccups. Team India will be aware of the number of upsets already done in this mega tournament.

It’s worth noting that India vs Bangladesh games have always been intense and some of them had nail-biting finishes just like the game in the 2016 T20 World Cup. Shakib’s statement is crucial as he believes the pressure will be on Men in Blue as they are trying to lift the World Cup trophy.

India has had a good tournament till now as they’ve won 2 out of their 3 games and are looking good to book a spot for the semi-final. Bangladesh too has won 2 out of their 3 games and does have a chance to qualify for the semi-final but their net run rate is quite negative i.e. -1. 53.

The game in Adelaide against Bangladesh can be tough as the Adelaide pitch usually offers some spin and spinners like Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan will look to use that advantage. Team India will also need to be careful against Taskin Ahmed who has bowled some superb spells on these pacy Australian wickets and has got enough support from Mustafizur Rahman.
