‘Imam ko saro ne sar par chada liya’ – Babar Azam reacts hilariously as reporter refers him as ‘Imam’

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam engaged in funny banter with a reporter in the post-match press conference after the 5th Pak vs NZ ODI of the 5-match ODI series. The reporter mistakenly addressed Babar as Imam after which the Pakistan skipper quickly corrected him on his mistake.

Babar Azam’s hilarious reply to a reporter

Babar Azam was attending the post-match press conference after the 5th Pak vs NZ ODI. One of the reporter while asking Babar Azam about the ODI series, mistakenly called him Imam instead of Babar. The Pakistan skipper was quick to correct his mistake and everyone in the press conference including the reporter himself started laughing.

Babar Azam responded at the reporter’s blunder as he said, “Lagta hai saaro ne Imam ko na sar par chadha liya hai (It seems like everyone has taken Imam to their head).”

Imam-ul-Haq had earlier posted a cryptic tweet. Babar Azam insinuated that everyone has been giving too much attention to Imam-ul-Haq after the tweet gone viral on social media.“‘Life is an unexpected journey, so never expect anything from anyone’. Be patient; Allah is watching,” Imam had tweeted after he was dropped from the playing XI.

Babar Azam talks about Imam-ul-Haq’s cryptic tweet

Babar Azam was asked about Imam-ul-Haq’s tweet to which the Pakistan skipper replied by saying, “I haven’t checked my mobile and don’t know what Imam has tweeted. There are no disgruntled players in our team and the unity is good. We try to resolve our matters within ourselves and not take them out.”

It’s worth noting that, Imam-ul-Haq played the first three matches of the ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand. The opening batter had scored 60 runs off 65 deliveries in the first ODI. He was also adjudged as the player of the match after playing a crucial knock of 90 runs leading his side to victory.

However, despite excellent performances, he was dropped from the side for the last two matches of the series after which question marks were raised on the Pakistan Team’s selection process. Imam-ul-Haq too had clearly looked disappointed after being missed out in the last two ODIs.

New Zealand defeated Pakistan by 47 runs in the 5th ODI courtesy of brilliant knocks by Will Young, Mark Chapman and skipper Tom Latham. However, Pakistan remained victorious in the series as they had defeated New Zealand in the first 4 ODIs as they clinched the Pak vs NZ series by 4-1.
