Team India is facing Australia in the series decider of the three-match ODI series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Team India’s chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav started his spell really well but left his skipper Rohit Sharma unimpressed after he walked back showing no interest in taking DRS against Alex Carey.
The Australian side got a great start against the Men in Blue in the third ODI in Chennai. Aussie openers Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head played their shots right from the word go as Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj didn’t look effective in their first spell.
After the new-ball bowlers leaked runs, it was all-rounder Hardik Pandya who brought India back into the game. Pandya dismissed Head and Steve Smith in a quick succession. Hardik then went on to dismiss Mitchell Marsh who has looked dangerous throughout the series.
Kuldeep Yadav shows no interest in DRS after Rohit and Virat made a loud appeal
After Hardik Pandya’s lethal spell, Kuldeep Yadav came in to the attack. During the 25th over of Australia’s innings, Kuldeep dismissed David Warner on the third delivery. Kuldeep bowled a flighted delivery to which Warner played a lofted shot towards the long off region. Warner couldn’t time his shot as the long off fielder grabbed a simple catch.
Australian wicketkeeper Alex Carey came in to bat after Warner’s dismissal and was beaten by Kuldeep’s turn on the first delivery he faced. The ball missed his inside edge as he looked to defend the delivery and went on to crash his pads.
As the ball hit Carey’s pads, Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli and Ishan Kishan made a loud appeal. On-field umpire Nitin Menon looked completely uninterested with the appeal and so was Kuldeep Yadav. The chinaman spinner quietly walked back to his bowling position.
Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma looked quite interested in taking the DRS but got no support from Kuldeep Yadav after which he looked furious with the young spinner. On the giant screen it showed that the decision would have remained the same even if Team India had taken the DRS.
