The second test between India and New Zealand is currently underway at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Though the hosts had a good opening partnership, the Kiwi spinner, Ajaz Patel, did well to bring the visitors back into the game. While the test match is turning out to be a tight game, equally poised between both sides, a funny incident was seen on the field on Day 2. R Ashwin went on to request a review for his dismissal, though he was clean bowled.

Mayank Aggarwal and Shubhman Gill put up a decent 80-run opening stand but Gill edged one to the first slip on Ajaz Patel’s bowling in the 27th over. New Zealand then reduced India to 80/3 as Ajaz Patel sent back both Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli in his next over.

The Left-Arm Leg Spinner has impressed everyone as he has picked up all the Indian wickets so far in this test match. He is the only successful bowler for the Kiwis in the ongoing test. Out of all his wickets, Ravi Ashwin’s dismissal was one hilarious incident.

India resumed Day 2 with a score of 221 runs on the board with a loss of four wickets. The overnight pair though could not stand on the crease for long on Day 2 as Ajaz Patel sent back Wriddhiman Saha in the second over of the day. Soon after Saha’s dismissal, on the very next ball, Patel cleaned up Ravichandran Ashwin with a turning delivery.

Patel bowled a flighted delivery around the middle stump, and Ashwin, who was facing his first delivery, went on to defend by taking a short stride forward. The ball turned sharply, missed the outside edge of the bat, and went on to hit the top of the off-stump. Ashwin, thinking that he was given caught out behind the stumps, was seen indicating for a review. It was when he turned back, he realized that he was bowled.
