India 2021-22 Home Schedule: New captain to lead 3 days after T20 WC final

A lot of T20 cricket is scheduled for team India owing to the T20 World Cup which is to be played in Australia next year.

Team India’s Home Schedule for the year 2021-22 has been released by the BCCI and the Indian cricketers are set to remain busy for the remaining of this year. The cricketers are currently busy with the ongoing IPL and the T20 Cricket World Cup is lined up next. Though it could be difficult for the players, it surely would be a treat for the cricket fans to watch back-to-back international cricket matches. Indian team’s Busy Schedule

Soon after the T20 World Cup concludes, the Indian cricket team has to play a T20 series against New Zealand. The World T20 final will be held on the 14th of November and the IND vs NZ T20 series starts from the 17th. Hence in 3 days time after the World Cup the newly appointed T20 captain of team will be seen leading the side against New Zealand.

A total of 3 T20I will be played against New Zealand. After the T20Is, team India will play two home test matches against the Kiwis which are scheduled to be played in Kanpur and Mumbai respectively. These are the only red-ball matches for the Indian team for the rest of the year.

After a break of two months the Indians will be seen playing against the Windies. West Indies will be touring the sub-continent in the month of February next year for 6 white-ball matches (3 ODIs & 3 T20Is). Soon after the Windies tour ends, the Sri Lankan Cricket team will be seen in India for a span of almost a month. They’ll be coming for 2 Tests and 3 T20Is in February-March 2022. Finally, the Proteas will be touring India for a 5-match T20I series in June, after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, the T20 World Cup 2021 will be the next time when the Indian side will be seen in action. The mega-event starts on October 19 and will be played in the UAE and Oman. India is placed in Group 1 alongside Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and two qualifiers. The Kohli-led Indian side will take on Pakistan on the 24th of October to start their T20 World Cup campaign. Below you can find the 2021-2022 home schedule of team India.
