Team India’s legendary captain Kapil Dev has come up with a strong comment on India’s chances in the World Cup.

Kapil Dev believes that the Indian Team only has a 30 percent chance of making it to the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022.

During a promotional event in Lucknow, the World Cup-winning captain was asked about India’s possibility of winning the 2022 World Cup.

Kapil Dev replied to the question and said, “In T20 cricket, the team winning a match can lose the next… It’s a very difficult to talk about the chances of India winning the World Cup. The issue is can they make it to the top four?”

“And I am concerned about their making it to the top four, only then anything can be said. For me, it’s just 30% chance of India making it to the top (last) four,” he added.

Team India is a strong contender for the World Cup but they have been pushed back by injury issues.

The team has already lost three key players Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Deepak Chahar due to injuries.

The Indian team is placed in Group 2 along with Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh and the group might get tougher following the results in the preliminary qualification round.

While the batting looks really solid for the Men in Blue, the bowling department still has some areas to improve especially in the death overs.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel have leaked plenty of runs in the slog overs making it difficult for the team to defend totals.

However, the team has done reasonably well after reaching Australian shores as they defeated the Aussies in the official warm-up game and got a victory and a defeat against the Western Australia XI.

All eyes will now be on the combination that the Indian Team uses in the first game against Pakistan on October 23, against whom they lost in the 2021 World Cup and were out from the group stage of the tournament.
