India Named Rishabh Pant Replacement For 2nd ODI Vs Australia

In recent time, Team India has dealt with the injuries of many players. The continuation of injuries has been going on since the 2019 World Cup. Shikhar Dhawan was sidelined from the mega event after facing a thumb injury since his return we have not seen his best.

Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya were also sidelined from the Indian side due to fitness issues. Bumrah has made his return while Pandya and Bhuvneshwar are still undergoing rehabilitation. Rishabh Pant is the new name in this list.

Rishabh Pant was hit on the helmet during India vs Australia 1st ODI at Wankhede and since then he is suffering a concussion. The wicket-keeper was ruled out of the 2nd ODI match and currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) Bengaluru. Rishabh Pant is expected to be fit before 3rd ODI match.

KS Bharat is named as Rishabh Pant’s replacement for the 2nd ODI match. However, KL Rahul is expected to keep the wickets in 2nd ODI match and Kona Srikar Bharat will be there as a back-up wicket-keeper. Fans were expecting that Sanju Samson will receive his maiden ODI call-up. But it didn’t happen as Samson is in New Zealand with India A team.

Who Is KS Bharat?

Wicket-keeper batsman KS Bharat is having a decent domestic record for Andhra. In February 2015, he became the first wicket-keeper batsman to score a triple hundred in the Ranji Trophy. Later that year, he was rewarded with an IPL contract as Delhi Daredevils bought him for 10 lakh rupees. However, he is not having an IPL contract at present. Before this, in 2019 he was added in the Indian squad for 2nd test against Bangladesh as a cover for Wrddhiman Saha.
