Team India announced their squad for the upcoming 2022 T20 World Cup yesterday, and in under 24 hours, they’ve now come up with an update regarding the new Jersey that Team India will don in the showpiece event.
The announcement was made via a teaser on the official handle of the Indian Cricket Team and featured captain Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer.
Fans to be a part of Team India’s new Jersey
In a pleasant surprise for the die-hard cricket fanatics in India, the declaration from MPL (the official kit sponsor for the Men in Blue) has given them the chance to be a part of the kit.
In the clip, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Shreyas Iyer ask the fans to contribute to the Jersey, “As fans, you make us the cricketers we are. The game is not the same without you guys (and girls?) cheering us on. Click on the link and be a part of the new Team India Jersey.”
Last time around, MPL had designed a pretty dope kit for 2021 T20 WC and a special sound-wave pattern depicting a million cheers of the fans was printed on the shirts.
This time, the interested candidates have been given the chance to offer inputs regarding the design of the new Team India Jersey on the official MPL sports website.
In addition to textual inputs, the fans can also upload a photo of their best cricket memory to MPL under their campaign labelled as HAR FAN KI JERSEY.
The best entries may become a part of the outfit.
The Men in Blue will start their 2022 T20 World Cup campaign on October 23 with a game against nemesis nation Pakistan.
The 15-man squad declared by the BCCI on September 12 is as follows:
Rohit Sharma (c), Virat Kohli, Suryakumar, KL Rahul (vc), Rishab Pant (wk), Dinesh Karthik (wk), Deepak Hooda, Ravi Ashwin, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel, and Arshdeep Singh.
