Team India will be hosting Australia for a 3-match T20 series from the 20th of September. The first match of the series will be played at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, Punjab. Australia has recently whitewashed an ODI series 3-0 against the New Zealand side, at home. On the other hand, the Indian side has had an unexpected exit from the Asia Cup 2022 after two consecutive defeats in the Super Four Stage against Pakistan and Sri Lanka. India went into the tournament as the favourite but couldn’t manage to reach the final. Questions have been raised on the team selection of the India side and now it would be interesting to see what combination the side goes with against the Aussies.

Talking about the squad news, Australia is set to miss three of their main players, namely- Mitchell Starc, Mitch Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis, due to injuries. Nathan Ellis, Daniel Sams, and Sean Abbott have replaced the trio in the Australian 15-member squad. Team India will see the return of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel to the side. Mohd. Shami as well has been included in the side after being left out of the Asia Cup squad.
