Both India and Australia will look to play their full strength playing XI as this series will be their last chance to prepare for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. The two teams will also contest against each other in their first World Cup game on October 8 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
As per some reports, Australian skipper Pat Cummins is doubtful for the 3-match ODI series against India starting on September 22. Cummins suffered a suspected broken wrist in the fifth Ashes 2023 Test and hasn’t cleared the fitness test yet.
Cummins wasn’t included in the 5-match ODI series against South Africa as well due to which Mitchell Marsh was given the responsibility to lead the Australian team. On the other hand, Team India will be keen to see Shreyas Iyer get fully fit ahead of the series.
The Aussie side have included quite a few all-rounders in their squad. Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis and Cameron Green will provide the required depth in their bowling lineup. While the Men in Blue too have Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur as all-rounders in their squad.
