India vs England T20 WC Semi-final

Team India will play against the mighty England Team in the second semi-final of T20 World Cup in Adelaide Oval.

England have faced a huge setback ahead of the knockout clash against Team India as they’ve lost their key player owing to an injury.

Dawid Malan set to miss the semi-final due to groin injury

England’s main stay in the batting department, Dawid Malan, hasn’t recovered from a groin injury he sustained during the game against Sri Lanka. Malan was positioned at point during England’s last league match, tweaked his left groin as he tried to stop Bhanuka Rajapaksa’s shot. Right after his fielding effort he limped off the field and didn’t even came to bat.

The former top ranked English batter, plays the anchor role and consistently scores runs while the aggressive batters like Buttler and Moeen Ali play around him. Malan’s absence in the knockout game can have a huge impact on overall performance of the English side.

England allrounder Moeen Ali was asked about Malan’s fitness for the game against India. Moeen told BBC, “He has been one of our best players for a number of years. I don’t know but to be honest with you it is not looking great. He went for scans yesterday and when he arrived, we don’t really know much but it is not looking great.” Moeen Ali believes that the English side hasn’t played to their potential in the T20 World Cup 2022 and hence they can be the underdogs in the game against India.

Malan’s injury before such a crucial game could be a factor of worry for the England team as they don’t have a player of Malan’s calibre to replace him in the crunch game. On the other hand, Team India has looked in some serious form right through the beginning of the tournament.

Team India and England have been the two most consistent and powerful sides over the last few years across formats and hence it’s believed that the game on November 10 would be a nail-bitter. Both the teams would need their match-winners to give their 100% in crucial moments of the game.
