India vs India A to take place ahead of India’s Tour of England 2021

2021 is going to be the year filled with cricket. India has a busy schedule this year. In February and March, Virat Kohli-led side will host England in all three formats. There will be IPL in April and May and later this year India will tour England for a 5-match test series. Now the news is Virat and Rahane may lock horns for a 4-day India vs India A practice match. The match will be good preparation for the overseas test series.

India vs India A in July

The date of the India vs India A match has not yet unveiled. However, County Ground in Northamptonshire has been confirmed as the venue. “Some of the world’s finest international cricketers will be on show at The County Ground this summer as we welcome India and India A,” Northamptonshire County Cricket Club said in a statement late on Wednesday.

Virat Kohli will captain India while Ajinkya Rahane might lead India A side which will have emerging players from the domestic circuit. The 1st test of the series will start on the 4th of August in Nottingham. The 2nd and 4th tests will take place in London. While 3rd and 5th tests are scheduled in Leeds and Manchester.

England team is currently in India to play the 4-match test series which is a part of the ICC test championship. The series is crucial for both teams for making a spot in the final of the tournament. India is holding the 1st position while England is currently in the 4th spot. India needs to win the series by 4-0, 3-0, 3-1 or 2-0 to qualify for the mega match at Lord’s.

Chennai is the venue for the first two tests. While Motera cricket stadium will hosts the remaining two tests. The third test is going to be a day-night clash at Motera and will be the first international match at the venue after the renovation. The final match of Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy 2021 will also take place at Motera on 31 January.
