India vs New Zealand: Umpire Langton Rusere Made Bizarre Decision In The First ODI At Hamilton

After defeating the host in the t20 series with 5-0, now Team India is taking them in the ODIs series. Meanwhile, in the first ODI of India vs New Zealand series at Seddon Park in Hamilton, Zimbabwean umpire Langton Rusere made a bizarre decision. However, thanks to DRS (Decision Review System), the batsman survived even after the umpire’s error of the judgement.

It all happened in the second innings of the match when the ball struck Kiwis batsman Henry Nicholls’  thigh pad and flew straight to the man at gully. Indian team appealed to get him out and the umpire didn’t think much before raising the finger to give the batsman out. This was not the first wrong decision of the match, also earlier in the first innings Umpire Langton didn’t give Mayank out when he was clear plumbed in the front.

Henry Nicholls was to take DRS as soon as the umpire made mistake as the batsman was pretty much sure. Even the fielding side had not made that much confident appeal however still the onfield umpire had other plans. And when the replay was shown on the big screen, even the commentators remain in wonder as there was the huge difference between the bat and ball, and no chance of LBW. Here we are sharing the video of the incident below.

Here is the video

Earlier in the match, after winning the New Zealand team invited the visitor’s team to bat first in the first match of India vs New Zealand ODI series 2020. Meanwhile, in the first innings, team India scored 347-4 at the end of the 5o overs in Hamilton. Once again Lokesh Rahul has shown his worthwhile batting in the lower middle order. He has scored unbeaten 88 runs off just 64 balls and also Shreyas Iyer has played a beautiful inning. Iyer has scored his first-ever international century as he scored 104 runs before getting out.
