The 14th edition of the IPL is now almost 1 month away to kick start. Recently, Chennai hosted the mini-auction ahead of the season where a total of 57 players were bought by the 8 franchises. Fans are eagerly waiting for the IPL 2021 match list date. Now the start date list of the upcoming season of the cash-rich league is almost here. BCCI has announced that India will host the tournament from April to June. However, only 2 or three venues will host the whole season.

The start date of IPL 2021 is 11 April while the final match is likely to play on 6 June. As 8 franchises will participate in the season a total of 60 matches to be played throughout the 2 months period. 56 out of these will be league matches while the rest 4 matches will be playoffs and the final. Initially, there were talks of increasing the number of teams from 8 to 10. However, the IPL governing council will consider the idea from 2022.

So far BCCI has not yet announced the date on which it will announce the match list of IPL 2021. But here is the tentative schedule of the tournament. So far we know that Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals may lock the horns in the opening match of the season while the final may take place at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The timing of matches will be 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

IPL 2021 Team Players List

Post Auction, all 8 franchises have a well balanced squad. KXIP had spent the most money as they bought 8 players for 34.4 crore. Their most expensive buy was Aussie pacer Jhye Richardson who bagged the contract for 14 crore. KL Rahul will continue the capatain’s duties for Punjab. Currently Rohit Sharm-led Mumbai Indians is the strongest side. The defending champions have strengthened their bench power by buying  key players like Nathan Coulter Nile and Jimmy Neesham.

On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad bought only 3 players as they had retained most of their players. MS Dhoni’s CSK has brought in 6 players including Cheteshawar Pujara and Moeen Ali. While RCB have a better squad as compared to previous season. The Bangalore-team spent 29 crore only on Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson.
