IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow Franchise engage in hilarious Twitter Banter

Fans were left in splits as both the teams tried to one-up each in a light-hearted exchange.

For the unversed, Indian Premier League is going to be a ten-franchise affair come 2022 season. In October, the holding rights for two new IPL franchises (Ahmedabad and Lucknow) were sold to CVC Capital Partners and RPSG Group respectively as the tournament planned an expansion for its upcoming edition.

IPL 2022 isn’t a distant thing anymore. It’s roughly four months away and that is an extremely short time-frame for a huge event like this, more so for the two new teams. One can’t tell much about ahmedabad franchise as their owners were under the scanner being involved with betting companies, but RPSG-owned Lucknow franchise has been very active.

Lucknow franchise’s hilarious banter with Rajasthan Royals

Just a couple of days ago, Rising Pune Super Giants (RPSG Group’s previous IPL team) changed its IG name to The Lucknow IPL Team and in a more recent turn of events, they arrived on Twitter with a post reading, “Welcome to the official Twitter profile of Lucknow IPL team.” It was captioned, “Swagat nahi karoge hamara?”- a famous dialogue from bollywood blockbuster Dabangg.

In a retaliation to the same, Rajasthan Royals’ every-so-fun Twitter handle shared a hilarious meme template from PK which mocked the lack of blue tick on Lucknow’s Twitter profile. The viral photo on their January 3rd’s post read, “thappa kidhar hai dikhao?”

Courtesy this hilarious banter between the two franchises, RR social media admin once again proved his ability to make people giggle and fans were left in splits as both the teams tried to one-up each in a light-hearted exchange.

Nonetheless, Lucknow IPL team eventually won this filmy and fun battle when their account was declared official after they received the blue tick from Twitter. “aa gaya thappa,” read Lucknow Team’s most recent Twitter post taking a dig at RR mocking them for their prior lack thereof.
