The select cricketers who impressed during T20 WC 2022 are all expected to get a big-cash deal in the upcoming IPL 2023 auction that’ll be held on December 23.

In this article, SportsTime247 covers four such players who will be in high demand during the mini-auction.

IPL 2023 auction: 4 T20 WC players that might grab a great deal

1. Sam Curran

The baby-faced cricketer turned out to be a menace, taking 13 wickets off 7 matches at an average and economy of just 11.30 and 6.50. The all-rounder won the Player of The Tournament award.

Sam Curran took a special liking to death bowling and gave just 70 runs off 64 deliveries in the final five, taking 9 scalps.
The 24-year-old bowled mixed slower ones and length balls to perfection. More importantly, he bowled to his fields.

Death overs specialists are rare in IPL and ones that can bat as well as Curran does are non-existent. Sam Curran has already had success in IPL and hence, is likely to be the biggest attraction at the 2023 Players auction.

2. Ben Stokes

Ben Stokes somewhat redeemed his T20I credentials in T20 WC 2022, making his first T20 international fifty in the final against Pakistan.

His 52*(49) in the final and 42*(36) against Sri Lanka were not as ballistic as IPL franchises love it. But they were effective and Stokes has now found himself in an anchor’s role. Moreover, short boundaries in IPL will help him bat at a better pace.

There’s no better player than Stokes in pressure situations and the England all-rounder already has an IPL MVP (2016) award to his name.

He is athletic in the field and can also serve as a bowling option. Expect Stokes to get a huge deal IF he enters IPL 2023 auction.

3. Sikandar Raza

Sikandar Raza has been on a roll for a major part of 2022 and the story wasn’t different during T20 WC 2022.

The 36-year-old Zimbabwe allrounder shone with both bat and ball, accumulating 219 runs and 10 wickets in his kitty. Raza bats at a brisk pace in the middle order and his spin bowling can also be a weapon on subcontinental pitches.

4. Joshua Little

Skipper Balbirnie’s go-to bowler during the Cup, Little set the tournament ablaze. He swung the ball up-front and was equally effective at the death thanks to his wide lines and pin-point yorkers.

Joshua Little took 10 wickets in T20 WC, including a terrific hat-trick against NZ that comprised Kane Williamson, James Neesham, and Mitchell Santner.

The left-arm pacer has gone unsold the last couple of times he entered the IPL player’s auction, but this time should be different. Little is already a net bowler for Chennai Super Kings.
