The 5-time champions experienced one of their worst campaign ever in the last season which they wouldn’t want to repeat ever. They finished at the bottom of the table in the IPL 2022. This season they are already 2 players down, one of them is their ace bowler Bumrah. IPL 2023: The Strongest Playing XI Mumbai Indians can field in Bumrah & Jhye Richardson’s absence.

Mumbai Indians have always been a perfect mixture of batting and bowling in their squad but this season it’s otherwise. After looking at the team we can say MI is very much a batting-heavy squad.

During the glory days of Mumbai, they used to have the luxury of all-rounders like Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Krunal Pandya which is missing in the squad now. The MI all-rounders won them many games on their own in very crunch situations.

The departure of the Pandya brothers haunted MI big time

The IPL mega auction 2022 has been a huge setback for MI as they lost some of their key players. Hardik Pandya and Krunal Pandya were released by Mumbai Indians in the auction which didn’t turn out to be a smart move.

Gujrat Titans picked Hardik Pandya as their skipper after MI released him. The all-rounder showed his class and finished the season with 4th most runs and helped his team win the title.

Cameron Green to fill the void of Kieron Pollard in the IPL 2023

MI’s long-time savior Kieron Pollard has opted out of the IPL 2023. To find his replacement in the IPL 2023 Player draft there was no better all-rounder option than Cameron Green.

Green has been a hot pick ever since he played that innings in the first T20I against India in Hyderabad. Mi paid a hefty amount for him in the IPL 2023 auction. Green cost 17.5 Crore for Mumbai Indians making him the 2nd most expensive player in the auction ever.

Arshad Khan and Jason Behrendorff can replace Bumrah and Richardson

MI have struck a major blow as they will the services of their death bowling specialist and New ball bowler both. Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson are very likely to be replaced by Arshad Khan and Jason Behrendorff.

Arshad has been sensational in the Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy in recent years. Considering he has been part of the MI net bowlers for the last couple of years makes him more likely to replace Bumrah in the team.
