Indian Premier League (IPL) has been a complete entertaining package for fans, appealing to a wider audience beyond regular cricket fanatics. The cash-rich IPL has successfully completed 16 editions since its inception in 2008. Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians won five honours each whereas Kolkata Knight Riders won two titles. Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Deccan Chargers (now-defunct) and Gujarat Titans won a title apiece. It remains to be seen which team will defy the odds and win the title in IPL 2024. Let’s learn more about the details of the IPL 2024 auction date and time in the article.

IPL 2024 Auction date and time

According to a report from Cricbuzz, the BCCI is contemplating hosting the IPL 2024 auction in Dubai. The report added that the mini-auction is expected to be staged between the December 15 and 19 window. If the reports doing the rounds are to be believed, then all 10 IPL teams have not yet been notified officially by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) about the venue for the IPL 2024 auction.

India’s governing body thought of fixing Istanbul as a potential venue for the IPL 2023 auction but after discussions, the auction was staged in India itself. The previous year’s auction took place in Kochi. So, the upcoming auction is thought to be held in Dubai (tentative) and just like last year, the venue might also be changed for IPL 2024. If the auction is held in Dubai, it is expected to kick off at 2:00 PM (IST).

All you need to know about the Trade Window

Usually, player trades in the IPL are nothing but strategic decisions made by franchises to better their success rate, and sort out the team needs while also creating a balanced and competitive tournament. As per the report from Cricbuzz, the trade window is open for IPL 2024 and the fans are expecting the franchises to do proper deals to make things right such that the players can get the hang of it in their new season. As things stand, the IPL teams have not been involved in player exchanges yet, albeit the trade window is open.

What did IPL Governing Council chairman, Arun Dhumal say about the next IPL?

“The IPL will be held in India next year. We will need time to make the schedule because it will be made after the Election Committee announces the dates of the general elections. We will have to see when the different states have their elections and will make the schedule accordingly. We will need to wait and will need to work with the government,” Arun Dhumal added in a statement.
