The IPL 2024 started 59 days ago with 10 teams vying for the title. Today, the tournament is down to four teams who will now clash in the playoffs. One of KKR, SRH, RR, or RCB will lift the IPL 2024 title. The remaining four games of the season will be played in Ahmedabad and Chennai. Ahmedabad and Chennai to host Playoffs matches
Table-topper Kolkata Knight Riders will meet Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 at Ahmedabad. The winner of this match will advance to the final, while the loser will move to Qualifier 2, where they will face the winner of the Eliminator match between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The loser of the Eliminator in Ahmedabad will be knocked out of the tournament. The Qualifier 2 and the Final will be played in Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Meanwhile, KKR, SRH, and RR are eyeing a long-awaited return to the champion’s podium. Rajasthan Royals haven’t won a trophy since clinching the inaugural season in 2008. Sunrisers Hyderabad lifted their sole title in 2016, while KKR are looking for their third IPL title since 2014. On the other hand, it will be historic if RCB manages to lift the trophy this year.
IPL 2024 Playoffs Schedule
The playoffs of IPL 2024 will commence on May 21 and the season will conclude on May 26 with the final in Chennai. All four games will kick off at 7:30 PM. However, a closing ceremony may take place ahead of the final.
