On Thursday, BCCI announces the list of IPL auction 2021 shortlist players. Initially, a total of 1114 players had registered for the event. However, only 292 cricketers have made it to the full list of players in IPL auction 2021. The official website of the Indian Premier League announces the news on 11 February. Players are divided into 7 categories according to their base price.
IPL Auction 2021 Shortlist Players List
INR 2 crore is the highest reserved price and 10 players including 2 Indians Harbhajan Singh and Kedar Jadhav have been shortlisted in the top bracket. The rest of the 8 overseas IPL auction shortlist players for the 2 crore category are; Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, Moeen Ali, Sam Billings, Liam Plunkett, Jason Roy & Mark Wood.
IPL auction 2021 council has shortlisted 12 players for the 2nd bracket which is 1.5 crore. England’s Dawid Malan will be a bid to look out for here. Surprisingly Morne Morkel eying a contract in the cash-rich league as he has made it to the list. Meanwhile, two Indians shortlist for the 1 crore group of 2021 IPL auction. Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari are the two Indians among 8 overseas players; Aaron Finch, Ewin Lewis, Sheldon Cottrell, Mustafizur Rahman, Moises Henriques, Marnus Labuschagne, Jason Behrendorff, Billy Stanlake and Matthew Wade.
Sreesanth misses out on the final list
The 4th highest reserved base price is 75 lakh. A total of 15 players shortlisted in this bracket. Sreesanth had registered his name with a 75 lakh base price. However, he will not see his name in the IPL auction 2021 shortlist players list. All 15 players with 75 lakh base price are from overseas; Chris Morris, Corey Anderson, Darren Bravo, Ben Cutting, Kylie Jamieson, Fabian Allen, Dan Christian, Liam Livingstone, Tim Southee, Keemo Paul, Fidel Edwards, Mohammad Mahmud Ullah, Sherfane Rutherford, Hilton Cartwright and James Faulkner.
50 lakh, 40 lakh and 20 lakh are the lowest base prices. 65 players’ bids will start from 50 lakh base price while the rest of 179 players are in the 40 lakh and 20 lakh groups. Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara’s name shortlisted in the 50 lakh bracket. Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane who was part of Delhi Capitals last season will go under the hammer with a base price of 40 lakh. Son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun has also made it to the final list of players in IPL auction 2021.
