While the Indian team is making great strides in world cricket, there is one man who has looked off-colour for a long period of time and that is none other than the supreme Virat Kohli. After a rough patch for almost three years now, the star Indian batsman has come under great scrutiny and the voices for his removal from the squad have gotten louder. Now, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly speaks on the batsman’s poor run.
Sourav Ganguly speaks up on Virat Kohli’s form
Considering the caliber and the reputation of Virat Kohli, the batsman has been given regular chances even after he has been failing to get into the rhythm he was once in. The team management has supported the cricketer in his lean patch and now Sourav Ganguly speaks up on the batsman’s form and expressed his views on Kohli’s place in the side.
Talking to ANI, Sourav Ganguly speaks up on Kohli as he said, “Of course, look at the numbers he has got in international cricket that doesn’t happen without ability and quality. Yes, he has had a tough time and he knows that. He has been a great player himself. He himself knows by his own standards it has not been good and I see him coming back and doing well. But he has got to find his way and become successful, which he has been for the last 12-13 years or more and only Virat Kohli can do that.”

Over the years, Virat Kohli has been one of the strongest pillars for the Indian cricket team and the management and the current skipper Rohit Sharma understands the value that Kohli brings to the team. After Kohli’s yet another failure in the T20I series against England, a section of fans and even former cricketers like Kapil Dev opined that the batsman should be dropped for good.

After the criticism, Rohit Sharma backed Kohli in a press conference as he said that there is a lot of planning that goes into, when selecting the Playing XI. He also said that the chatter outside doesn’t really matter for him or the team management as the outsiders don’t know what exactly is going on in the Indian dressing room. After the captain, even BCCI President Sourav Ganguly speaks up and backed Kohli to get back into form.
