‘It would embarrass all the modern-day players’ – KP gives an epic reply as being asked to play IPL again

The former English batsman was in his element against the Asia Lions in Legends League Cricket.

The former England batsman Kevin Pietersen showed a glimpse of his early days as he smashed 86 runs off just 38 deliveries in the ongoing Legends League Cricket. The former England star shared a video of his batting display and the fans are in awe of the batsman’s skills even at this age. Indian cricketer Shreevats Goswami also saw the video and couldn’t stop himself from praising the English batsman.

KP’s epic reply on being asked about IPL comeback

The Legends League Cricket (LLC) kickstarted on 20th January with India Maharajas taking on Asia Lions. The one of its kind tournaments is currently taking place in Al Amerat, Oman and the final is going to be played on 29th January between World Giants and Asia Lions. In the match against Asia Lions, the batsman was after the bowlers and didn’t spare any of them. Indian cricketer Shreevats Goswami commented on the video asking Pietersen to return to the IPL, to which KP gives a sarcastic reply.

In Match 5 of the Legends League Cricket, the World Giants were given a target of 150 and the team made light work of the target. With the help of Kevin Pietersen’s blazing knock, the World Giants achieved the target in just 13 overs. When Shreevats Goswami asked Pietersen to return to IPL, Kevin Pietersen gave a sarcastic reply saying, “It would embarrass all the modern day players!” followed by a laughter emoji.

The inning played by Kevin Pietersen was a testimony of his batting prowess and a display of the class that the batsman still possess. His inning of 86 runs was laced with 9 boundaries and 7 maximums.

The batsman was dismissed by Sri Lankan legend Muralitharan, but it was too late a comeback for the Asia Lions as Pietersen had done bulk of the work with his blistering inning.
