Jasprit Bumrah and Chris Lynn’s Twitter exchange comes to reality

Chris Lynn And Jasprit Bumrah

Chris Lynn is a known name in the T20 circuit. He has lent his services to various IPL franchises in the past, before being bought by the Mumbai Indians in the 2020 player auction. Lynn had confirmed the same on his Twitter handle expressing his joy. He was also relieved that he wouldn’t have to face Jasprit Bumrah. However, he couldn’t escape the same and the duel took place on Friday.

Chris Lynn had tweeted, “Great City, Quality Franchise, Flat wicket, Don’t have to play against @Jaspritbumrah93. Can’t wait for @IPL 2020.

To which Bumrah replied, “Haha, welcome to the team! @lynny50 You’re still going to have to face me in the nets.?”

The much awaited 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is going to kick start from September 19th in UAE. Defending champions Mumbai Indians and last year’s runner up Chennai Super Kings are going to face each other in the season opener. Players are gearing up for the challenge and sweating it out in the nets.

Jasprit Bumrah and Chris Lynn’s on field battle

It was in one of these sessions that the two locked horns and enjoyed facing each other. The video of the same was posted on MI’s official YouTube channel where Bumrah can be seen bowling with a fiery pace and Lynn handling his deliveries pretty well, also hitting a big shot in the process. Lynn may have to wait for a while before he features in any MI match as Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock will be opening the innings for the defending champions.

The responsibility on Bumrah’s shoulders will be double this time as one of MI’s best bowlers Lasith Malinga has opted out of the tournament citing personal reasons. It will be interesting to see how Bumrah copes up with the pressure.

The season opener will start at 07:30 (IST). Farhan Akhtar will be opening the Star Sports’ Live Broadcast on ‘Cricket Live’, ahead of the opening match. The actor will be promoting his upcoming sports drama Toofan at IPL 2020.
