Team India’s speedster Jasprit Bumrah and his wife Sanjana Ganesan have been blessed with a baby boy due to which he will miss the Asia Cup 2023 game against Nepal. Bumrah took to Twitter and posted an adorable message to confirm the news and revealed that they have named him ‘Angad Bumrah’.

Earlier on September 3, it was reported that Bumrah left for Mumbai due to some personal reasons and will join the Indian team ahead of the Super Fours stage of the Asia Cup 2023. It was then revealed by a few websites that the couple was expecting the birth of their first baby.

The Indian pacer took to Twitter early morning on September 4 and shared the news with the cricket fans. He expressed how wonderful the couple were feeling after the birth of their baby boy.

“Our little family has grown & our hearts are fuller than we could ever imagine! This morning we welcomed our little boy, Angad Jasprit Bumrah into the world. We are over the moon and can’t wait for everything this new chapter of our lives brings with it – Jasprit and Sanjana,” Bumrah wrote on Twitter.

Meanwhile, the cricket fans were concerned if the Indian pacer has got some injury concerns for which he was heading to Mumbai. However, a BCCI official told Cricketnext that there were no issues with his fitness.

“Yes, Bumrah is heading to Mumbai for personal reasons. It is not an injury concern or anything else and he will rejoin the squad for the Super 4 stage of the tournament,” the official told Cricketnext.

Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan had tied the knots in March 2021. His wife Sanjana is a very popular face among the cricket fans as she is one of the leading sports presenters in India. She was also Miss India 2014 finalist and took part in reality show Splitsvilla.

It’s worth noting that Bumrah was out of action for the last 11 months due to an injury he suffered in September 2022. He couldn’t participate in the T20 World Cup 2022 as well and was rehabilitating in the NCA, Bengaluru.

Last month, he made his comeback in the T20I series against Ireland and proved his fitness ahead of the Asia Cup 2023. The Indian team will be expecting him to remain fully fit for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
