‘Jayada superstar na bane’ – Babar Azam slams Pakistan teammates after Asia Cup 2023 ouster

Captain Babar Azam didn't hold himself back from slamming his teammates after a defeat against Sri Lanka

The expected favourites to lift the Asia Cup 2023 trophy Pakistani have crashed out from the tournament after a shocker defeat against Sri Lanka. Suffering from injury baggage in the squad captain Babar Azam looked absolutely pissed off inside the dressing room after yet another painful exit from a multination tournament.

The conversation on the internet is getting viral at a rapid pace as the Pakistani dressing room doesn’t appear to be a good place to stay. After two back-to-back defeats against India and Sri Lanka, the men in green have been knocked out of the Asia Cup 2023.

After the Sri Lanka game was concluded Captain Babar gracefully accepted the defeat and also gave a mature post-match Interview. However, things changed dramatically inside the dressing room when Babar expressed his disappointment to his teammates by slamming them with harsh words.

Babar said “Jyada Superstar na bane” to everyone in the dressing room which means “Dont act like a superstar”

While everyone inside the dressing was tight-lipped on Babar’s statement the Pakistani pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi broke his silence. The left-arm fast bowler opposed his captain and asked him to at least appreciate those who bowled and batted well in today’s match.

However, skipper Babar Azam didn’t like Shaheen’s interference and replied “I know who is performing well” in a taunting way. Later on, the conversation between the two elite cricketers was getting uglier so Mohammad Rizwan acted as a moderator and controlled the argument in between.

A poor all-round performance by the Pakistani team led to another shocker exit

The world number 1 ODI side has been knocked out of the Asia Cup 2023 courtesy of Sri Lanka’s inspiring performance at the R Premadasa on Thursday. Captain Babar Azam’s flop show continued in the tournament after the century against Nepal in the opening game.

New entrant Abdullah Shafique did play a classy knock at the top but the vulnerability of Fakhar Azam kept going on.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Rizwan acted as a savior for Pakistan in the rain-hit game and scored 86 not out to take his team to 252/7 at the end of the innings.

The rain interruption altered the game to 42 overs a side which made Sri Lanka bat on 5th gear initially. Kusal Perrera played a splendid knock of 91 runs and Charith Assalanka gave the much-needed finishing touches to the game.
