Former team India coach Ravi Shastri has a reputation for his carefree, ‘bindaas’ demeanour on and off the field. The erstwhile cricketer who has resumed commentary duties now that his coaching days are behind him, recently took to Twitter to enjoy his ‘good mood’ with his followers. And in the process, Shastri- not for the first time- ended up delivering some real comic gold through his posts.

Ravi Shastri is in a good mood from ‘Happy hours’

Earlier in the day, Ravi uploaded a series of photos showing him in the background of a party. Each of those posts featured an interesting caption to go along with the pictures. One of them, featuring Ravi wearing shades and dancing, read: “My family lives in Mumbai and I live in the moment”. Another one quipped: “‘Good mornings’ are optional if you haven’t slept at all”.

The closing post on his series of party photos featured a woman. While not much is known about the woman, we can take it from Shastri that “You’re in her DMs (direct messages”, while “she’s on my guestlist”.

By this point, fans were already quite amused and puzzled by all the developments going around Shastri’s Twitter profile. But Shastri was in too good a mood- seemingly from his party- to let the fun fade out all too soon. He asked his followers to engage in a social media Q/A session with him on Twitter. One of the questions asked Ravi upfront whom he would pick over Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Now typically, such a question would elicit a diplomatic, long-worded answer comparing both the batters’ strengths and weaknesses. Ravi, however, didn’t break a sweat, and answered he’d chose the one who was throwing the more fun party!

The closing highlight of Ravi’s Twitter tour came from a fan who posted a hand-drawn picture of the former India coach. This ‘fan’ asked Ravi to critique Ravi’s portrait with a missing shoulder drawn in pen-ink, and it supposedly took two whole hours for completion. Ravi just had one request for his fan- erase it.
