KBC is a popular Indian Hindi-language quiz hosted by Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan. It is totally based on the British show by the name of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” Ever since KBC was launched in 2000 on Sony Entertainment Television, the show has been running quite successfully for more than two decades.
The host of the show throws questions based on the latest news, sports, history, science, technology and current affairs. Several people participated in the competition and won a truckload of cash, courtesy of their general knowledge, which helped them make fortunes. KBC has well and truly entertained viewers of all ages.
This goes to show the engagement and the traction of the show and it still remains one of the most popular television shows in the country today. For the unversed, the questions are asked in a multiple-choice format, with four options. Meanwhile, the Contestants can use three lifelines to help them answer the questions.
KBC asks a cricket question worth ₹25 lakh
Recently, the Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) made the headlines after the host of the show, Amitabh Bachchan asked a cricket question worth INR 25 lakh rupees to the contestant. The question that was asked in the episode was, “Who is the first Indian cricketer to dismiss both a father and a son in Test cricket?”

The options are Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami. The correct answer is ‘Ravichandran Ashwin’. The veteran off-spinner is the first Indian cricketer to dismiss West Indies’ batting great Shivnarine Chanderpaul (father) and Tagenarine Chanderpaul (son) in Test cricket.
Ravi Ashwin has been immensely successful in dismissing the left-handers in his Test career. Interestingly, he dismissed both Shivnarine and Tagenarine in red-ball cricket. The experienced campaigner achieved the feat during the two-match Test series against the West Indies cricket team in 2023.
The off-spinner got rid of Tagenarine Chanderpaul in the first Test match by making a mess of his stumps at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica. Ravichandran Ashwin has been the most successful bowling all-rounder for India in the longest format. Having played 94 Tests, he took as many as 489 wickets in his career.

It is worth mentioning here that he has accounted for 24 four-wicket hauls and 34 five-wicket hauls. On the other hand, he has been a pretty decent lower-order batsman as he piled up 3185 runs including 5 centuries and 14 fifties to his credit, registering his personal best score of 124.
