Team India will march toward the ODI series against England after their recent success in the T20I series. The first of the three ODI matches will get underway on July 12 at the Kennington Oval in London.

The second ODI will take place at Lord’s, just more than five kilometres away from the Oval in the capital city of England. The final ODI at Old Trafford in Manchester will conclude India’s tour of England 2022 on July 17.

India vs England head-to-head records in ODIs

India and England have clashed in 103 ODI matches, where India got the better of their rivals 55 times. England turned victorious on 43 occasions with two games ending in a drawn affair and three games showing no result.

Both the teams have played each other in England 38 times in One-Day Internationals. The hosts have a better record of winning 22 games against India, who have managed 16 victories against England in England.

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni holds the record for most runs in England vs India ODI series. He scored 1546 runs in 44 innings at 46.84 with 10 half-centuries and one hundred. For England, Ian Bell has the most runs – 1163 at 43.07 – against India in the history of ODI cricket.

With 40 wickets at an average of 33.53 and an economy rate of 5.17, James Anderson remains the leading wicket-taker in the India-England ODI series. India’s left-arm spin bowler Ravindra Jadeja is second on the list with 37 scalps in 22 games.

England and India have played eight ODI matches at the Kennington Oval with the hosts leading 5-2 and one match has no result.

The average first innings score at the Oval is 248 in the first innings and 217 in the second innings. Teams batting first have won on 30 instances against team bowling first winning on 41 occasions.

Kennington Oval is known to be a batting pitch as teams winning the toss prefer to bowl first.

The pitch gets slowed in the second innings as the time passes and spinners get a bit of assistance in the latter part of the game. The Oval pitch is a flat wicket which allows the game to produce big scores.
