The young West Indies off-spinner grabbed a crucial 4-wicket haul in the third ODI against the UAE. He took the crucial wickets of Vriitya Aravind, Rameez Shahzad, Ali Naseer and Aayan Khan.

However, more than his heroic spell, it was Kevin Sinclair’s celebration that garnered attention from the cricket fans. The off-spinner celebrated his wickets with a series of somersaults as he looked pretty delighted with his performance.

Sinclair eventually finished with the figures of 4-24 in his 7.1 overs which is his best performance in ODI cricket for West Indies. Leg spinner Yannic Cariah too dismissed a couple of UAE batters after giving away just 34 runs in 8 overs.

Keemo Paul and Raymon Reifer took a wicket each as well as the UAE could only post a total of 184 runs before they were bowled out in just 36.1 overs courtesy of some brilliant bowling by the West Indies. Skipper Roston Chase too bowled some brilliant lines and lengths but couldn’t take any wicket.

Earlier, UAE skipper Muhammad Waseem and wicketkeeper-batter Vriitya Aravind had provided them a good start. Waseem scored a crucial 34-ball 42 while Aravind smashed 70 runs off just 75 deliveries including 8 fours and a maximum.

However, all other UAE batters failed to leave any impact with the bat and hence the UAE side couldn’t post a big total on the scoreboard. In response to the UAE’s total, West Indies lost the crucial wicket of Johnson Charles pretty quickly.

It was young batter Alick Athanaze who then played a scintillating knock to keep his team on track for the chase. Athanaze scored 65 runs off just 45 deliveries including 9 fours and 3 sixes and kept dominating the UAE bowling lineup.

Shamarh Brooks too scored a crucial 58-ball 39 and provided enough support to Athanaze as West Indies eventually chased down the target in just 35.1 overs with 4 wickets in hand. However, both star performers Alick Athanaze and Kevin Sinclair are not part of West Indies squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.
