Kieron Pollard gives a deadly stare to Prasidh Krishna after the pacer tried to sledge

The Mumbai Indians all-rounder left unimpressed with KKR bowler's action, Pollard was even seen exchanging some words.

Kolkata Knight Riders are back on the winning track with two one-sided wins in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. The Eoin Morgan-led side emerged victorious against the defending champions Mumbai Indians at Abu Dhabi yesterday. A complete team performance helped them beating Rohit Sharma and co. by 7 wickets and with 29 balls to spare. The bowling department of KKR was over the top yet again as Sunil Narine and Prasidh Krishna’s brace of wickets helped to restrict Mumbai to a score of 155. Prasidh Krishna was even seen trying to sledge Kieron Pollard, however, the big man left furious with the pacer’s action.

Kieron Pollard gets angry on Prasidh Krishna

The incident happened on the last ball of the 15th over. Pollard just arrived at the crease and defended his very first delivery back to bowler Krishna. The bowler tried to grab the ball but couldn’t, however, for some reason he continued to run towards the batsman with his hand up. An unimpressed Kieron Pollard heat the situation up as he gave an angry look to the pacer. He was even seen exchanging some words in the heat of the moment.

The MI all-rounder was the winner of the individual battle with the KKR pacer. Pollard got the better of the young Indian pacer as his very next over went for 18 runs and his final bowling figures read 2/43. However, Russell and Ferguson did well in the last two overs of the innings giving just 16 runs in total.

Points Table standings after KKR vs MI match

Things get upside down for KKR and MI after their match. With the win, KKR climbed up from 6th to 4th position while MI slid down from 4th to 6th position on the points table. Although all three, KKR, RR, and MI have 8 points, the better run-rate is putting KKR ahead. Both Kolkata and Mumbai have played 9 matches so far in the season and 5 matches have been left to play for both.

CSK and Delhi Capitals are in the driver’s seat currently with 14 and 12 points respectively. RCB is following them with 10 points in 8 matches. Talking about the bottom two teams, Punjab Kings still have hope to finish on the top 4 as they currently have 6 points after their first 9 matches. Upcoming matches are going to be very crucial for the KL Rahul-led side. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s chances of qualifying are almost over. The men in orange have won only one match in the season so far. One more loss will knock them out of the playoffs’ race.
