KL Rahul loses his cool as Third Umpire didn’t overturn the decision despite clear spikes

The PBKS skipper was seen extremely disappointed with the poor decision by the third umpire

The 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League is at a very interesting juncture at the moment. With 4 teams fighting for the fourth spot, the tournament has just got spicier. All the teams have been toiling hard to make it to the playoffs, however the umpiring in the second leg of the tournament has been outright disappointing. One such incident was witnessed by the fans in the match between RCB and PBKS as KL Rahul loses his cool after third umpire’s decision.

With the tournament at such a crucial stage, good umpiring becomes a very important aspect of the game. One wrong decision by the umpire can decide the fate of the match and ultimately the fate of a team depending on the result of that particular game. The umpires have done a very poor job as far as the second leg of the IPL is concerned. In all so deciding game against RCB, PBKS skipper KL Rahul loses his cool as the third umpire didn’t overturn the decision.

KL Rahul loses his cool after third Umpire’s decision

The incident took place in the 8th over of RCB inning when the PBKS leggie Ravi Bishnoi was bowling to the in-form batsman Devdutt Padikkal. The batsman tried to sweep the third ball of the over by, however he didn’t succeed in doing so. The ball brushed his glove and the spike was clearly visible on the UltraEdge. However, to everyone’s surprise, the third umpire didn’t overturn the on-field decision of Not Out. KL Rahul was not at all impressed and he had a long chat with the on-field umpire.

This is not the first time the third umpire has made such a major blunder. In yet another crucial match between PBKS and KKR on 1st October, the umpire gave KL Rahul Not Out after watching so many replays. The decision got a lot of backlash as most of the experts and viewers were of the opinion that it was definitely out. The third umpire debate is only going to get murkier after yet another poor decision.
