KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal opened the innings for KXIP while chasing a total of 177. Rahul and Mayank were off to flying a start. However, a scintillating delivery from Bumrah castled Mayank. Nonetheless, Rahul continued flawlessly at the opposite end. Chris Gayle and Nicholas Pooran chipped in with 24 runs each.

KL Rahul and Pooran took the onus on themselves in the super over. However, Bumrah got the better of Pooran. Punjab only managed five runs in the super over. Mumbai just needed six runs to win the game. However, Shami’s wonderful passage of play helped Punjab tie the game once again.
In the second super over, Mumbai scored 11 runs, and Punjab needed 12 runs to win the game. Chris Gayle’s first ball six in the second super over made the job easier for Punjab. Following that, Mayank closed the game for Punjab with a boundary. KXIP skipper was awarded the Man of the Match for his heroic fifty. KL also took Punjab in the second over with his excellent glovework behind the stumps.
