Team India’s man-in-form Suryakumar Yadav played one more scintillating knock against the Netherlands and was declared the Player of the Match.

For the past one year, Surya has become so used to winning these trophies as he has batted most consistently in the shortest format.

The explosive batter accepted the Player of the Match trophy in a rather casual way which shows how normal it has become for him to grab these trophies.

Suryakumar Yadav produced a funny moment at the presentation ceremony

Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 51 off just 25 deliveries with seven fours and one six in the game against the Netherlands and was adjudged the Player of the Match.

The anchor called Surya for a discussion as he answered a couple of questions and hilariously asked the fan to give the POTM trophy to him. He said, “Laao Bhaiya do” in quite a casual manner as he has become so habitual of winning these trophies.

Surya explained his tactics in the post-match talk as he said, “I was just trying to express myself when I went in to bat. The situation was very simple, I just had to up the tempo at that time. I took one ball today (to get going), but the message was loud and clear. We had to get about 8-10 an over and get a total which our bowlers could defend easily. Very happy with the way things went. Really enjoying batting with him (Kohli), the thoughts are very clear when we both are batting. If I get few boundaries earlier then our partnership needs to be stretched and that’s what we are doing.”

The explosive middle-order batter came to bat as Rohit Sharma got out after a steady inning of 53 runs. Virat Kohli on the other hand too was playing a rather safe knock as the Dutch bowlers were looking quite penetrating on a tricky Sydney wicket.

Surya, as always, started playing his shots right from the word go, across the field in almost every possible direction. The Netherlands bowlers suddenly looked wayward as they were taken on by the in-form Suryakumar Yadav as India posted a competitive total of 179 runs on the board.
