Yashasvi Jaiswal played one of the finest knocks of IPL 2023 in the RR vs KKR game on May 11. Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Nitish Rana stated in the post-match presentation ceremony that it’s just that knock that happens once in a lifetime and sounded arrogant to a few social media users.

The Rajasthan Royals’ opening batter smashed 98 runs off just 47 balls including 13 fours and 5 maximums. Yashasvi Jaiswal was adjudged as the player of the match after which Nitish Rana was asked about his brilliant knock in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Nitish Rana gets criticised by cricket fans on Twitter

“You have to praise his innings (on Jaiswal), it was a day when he could do anything he wanted. It was a 180 wicket as I said at the toss, our batting wasn’t great and that’s the result of us dropping 2 points,” Nitish Rana said after the RR vs KKR game.

“He was batting well right through the tournament, so I thought a part-time spinner could perhaps make him complacent, that was the plan, but he played superbly and those things do happen. It’s just that knock which happens once in a lifetime,” the KKR skipper stated in the post-match presentation ceremony.

Nitish Rana’s comment sounded arrogant to a few Twitter users. One of the users wrote, “Is Nitish Rana arrogant? just can’t accept the top knock played by Jaiswal. He said, it’s just that knock which happens once in a lifetime.”

Talking about the game, Kolkata Knight Riders never got the kind of momentum they needed in their innings. Both their openers lost their wickets quite early after which only Venkatesh Iyer could score a fifty. Nitish Rana too was dismissed after scoring just 22 runs.

The middle order consisting of players like Rinku Singh and Andre Russell too failed to deliver as the KKR side could only post a below-par total of 149-8 in their 20 overs on a batting-friendly wicket at the Eden Gardens. Yuzvendra Chahal grabbed 4 wickets while Trent Boult got rid of 2 KKR batters.

In response to KKR total, Rajasthan Royals lost their star batter Jos Buttler just in the second over but his dismissal didn’t hurt them much. Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal then took on each and every KKR bowler as they chased down the total in just 13.1 overs in the RR vs KKR game.
