‘Make MS Dhoni the new Chief Selector’ – Ex-Pakistan Cricketer advised BCCI as Chetan Sharma resigned

Team India’s chief selector Chetan Sharma has resigned from his post after he spilled some explosive remarks about Indian Cricket in a sting operation by ZEE media. Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has advised BCCI to appoint former captain MS Dhoni as the chief selector of the Indian cricket team.

Chetan Sharma got into trouble after his explosive remarks in a sting operation by ZEE Media created a ruckus in Indian cricket. After getting into all sorts of headlines, Chetan Sharma resigned from his post. He sent his resignation to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah who accepted it.

Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria was asked about his opinion about Team India’s chief selector position during an interview on India.com after which Kaneria suggested the name of MS Dhoni as Sharma’s successor.

“First, bring MS Dhoni on the table, have a word with him, whats his plan and how he will go as a chief selector. Now is the time for BCCI — Roger Binny and Jay Shah — to take a avery strict action and to have a new selection commitee, to have new people on board. MS Dhoni, one of the fantastic cricketers, people say that the brain of MS Dhoni is amazing,” Kaneria said on India.com.

“So why not have that kind of guy in the chief selector arena or some other position to sit and monitorise the players?” the former spinner further added.

It’s worth noting that Mahendra Singh Dhoni is one of the most successful captain in the history of Indian cricket. He is known for having a great cricket brain and is respected by all the present-day cricketers as most of them made their debut under his leadership.

Chetan Sharma was heard talking about the rift between former Indian skipper Virat Kohli and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. He mentioned that there was an ego clash between the two after which Virat stepped down as the captain of the Indian team.

Sharma’s sting operation has created havoc in Indian cricket and the BCCI will look to settle down things after his resignation. MS Dhoni is known to bring calmness on the table and that’s the reason why Danish Kaneria suggested his name for the post of chief selector.
