In the latest development, Manoj Tiwary has made up his mind to reverse his retirement decision and is set to represent the Bengal cricket team again. Just days after announcing his retirement, he quickly took a U-turn to play for Bengal after a discussion with the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) president, Snehasis Ganguly.
The prolific domestic cricketer will have another discussion with CAB officials later today. The right-handed batsman made the headlines recently after he called curtains on his career on August 3, Thursday. However, according to recent CAB sources, he is expected to make a return to the sport.
The 37-year-old is expected to make an official announcement over his latest call at the press conference that is slated to be held today. If reports doing the rounds are to be believed, the CAB president requested him to continue playing for Bengal. Earlier, the cricketer took to his Instagram handle and posted “Thank you”.

This particular post triggered speculations of his retirement and the fans sent him best wishes for the veteran’s future endeavours. Now, recent sources suggest that he will play for Bengal.

The experienced campaigner seems to have taken the decision to play for Bengal after a request from the CAB president. Under the captaincy of Manoj Tiwary, Bengal finished as the runners-up of the Ranji Trophy last year. He will be looking forward to helping the team in the best possible manner.
Manoj Tiwary didn’t the reporters following his sudden retirement call on Thursday but the speculations went rife after his post went viral on social media. As per the CAB sources, it has been learnt that he will be back to represent Bengal. He has got a terrific batting record in the domestic circuit.
The Bengal-born cricketer has mustered 9908 runs at an average of 48.56 including 29 centuries and 45 half-centuries in first-class cricket. Besides that, he scored five double-centuries and one triple-century.
