Marnus Labuschagne fills the air with his bizarre appeals and shouts during the Eliminator in BBL

Marnus Labuschagne had a good run with the bat against India in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy. As soon as the series got over, the Aussie batsman made his appearance in the ongoing Big Bash League for Brisbane Heat. Labuschagne is known for his on-field eccentricity as much as for his batting and the Eliminator against Adelaide Strikers witnessed just the same.

The right-handed batsman couldn’t shine with the bat for his team, but he was unstoppable with the ball as the Strikers found it difficult to take charge against him. Marnus Labuschagne ‘The Bowler’ scalped three crucial wickets and dented the Strikers’ batting line-up along with Swepson who took two wickets.

Marnus Labuschagne and his bizarre appeals

However, Labuschagne’s great bowling effort was overshadowed by the bizarre appeals and shouts that he made during the match. In a bid to get Labuschagne’s observation about the match, he was mic-ed up by the broadcasters. Therefore, all of 26-year-old’s peculiar appeals were audible to the viewers all around. Labuschagne kept shouting on the mic and the audience witnessed wild yet amusing words.

Even the commentator Mark Waugh was startled by the way Labuschagne went about his appeal against Travis head. “Is that in a foreign language, that appeal? I don’t think I’d want to room with him,” said Mark Waugh on-air feeling frustrated. The Twitterati was not happy at all with the Aussie batsman’s mannerism as they expressed their annoyance online.

A lot of Twitter users mentioned how he should be focusing more on his batting and less on yelling. The 26-year-old batsman was called out for his on-field behaviour during the series against India as well. Eventually, Marnus Labuschagne’s spell proved to be quite helpful for the Brisbane Heat as they went on to win the match by six wickets eliminating the Adelaide Strikers. They will now face the Sydney Thunder for the Knockout on 31st Jan.
