Marnus Labuschagne showcases variety of ‘No Run’ calls in the first Test against India

Team India is currently engaged in one of their most difficult tasks down under as they are playing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The first day ended on a mixed note for the Indian team as they ended their day at 233 for the loss of 6 wickets. India could only add 11 runs to their overnight total and were bundled up at 244 in the first session of Day 2. When Australia came on to bat and Marcus Labuschagne came on the crease, the fans witnessed something very interesting.

Australia started their inning steadily as both Matthew Wade and Joe Burns took their time scoring at a very slow rate. However, Bumrah gave India the opening they were looking for. The star Indian pacer sent both the Australian openers packing in quick succession. After the loss of first wicket, Marcus Labuschagne came to the crease.

Smith and Labuschagne tried to steady the ship and took their time to settle against the fiery Indian bowling. While Labuschagne was batting, he looked very animated with the ‘No Run’ calls. The Australian batsman could be heard saying ‘No Run’ in myriad ways. Even when he left the ball, he kept saying ‘No Run’ in different fashion.

Cricket Australia posted a video on their official Twitter handle where Labuschagne can be heard saying ‘No Run’ in different styles. As for the match, after posting an average total, team India came back strongly in the match; courtesy Ashwin’s 3 wickets. Labuschagne fought hard but eventually fell off Umesh Yadav missing out on a well-deserved half-century by just 3 runs.

The last session of Day 2 is in progress and India is on the driving seat having taken 8 important Australian wickets. Team India will look to take a big lead over the Aussies to dominate and ultimately win the first match.
