Australia pacer Pat Cummins is currently stationed in India, where he is completing his mandatory quarantine before becoming eligible to fly back to his homeland. Pat, alongside several other overseas players from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR); has faced troubles with regards to overseas travel ever since the IPL 2021 got postponed indefinitely because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pat and other KKR overseas players finding it difficult to leave India

While most of his Australian comrades- players and commentators alike- have taken refuge in the Maldives for the time being, Pat and several other Knight Riders players have had to stay back in India. The KKR camp had reported the earliest confirmed cases of COVID-19 within its unit when Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier returned positive test results last Monday.

Consequently, the entire Knight Riders’ camp had to be put into a mandatory 7-day quarantine. And while some of KKR’s overseas players have since managed to bend the rules and get back home to safety; Pat is yet to depart from India.

So to keep things entertaining, Pat Cummins has been participating in several online interviews. One such interview called the Player’s Lounge featured him alongside Indian presenter Mayanti Langer Binny and former England bowler Graeme Swann. Pat looked back at his iconic test debut in South Africa 10 years ago; reminiscing his feelings from the time he had to bat against a red-hot Dale Steyn.

But more than the interview, it was how Pat promoted it on his social accounts that has made it so viral. It would appear that Pat Cummins mistakenly tagged Mayank Agarwal; the dashing Punjab Kings opener, who had no connection with the interview whatsoever- in place of Mayanti Langer!

Mayank made sure to hilariously point out Pat Cummins’s faux-pas, albeit in a humble manner. “You got the wrong person Pat (sic),” he commented on the post. Even Mayanti saw the lighter side of the incident and replied “Epic” with 2 laughing emojis. As some fans rightly pointed out later: with Mayank’s own tweet about Sanjay Bangar and Jasprit Bumrah getting married from a few months back; things have come back in a full circle.
