Mitchell Starc gives a teasing send-off to Jadeja on the third day of the Boxing Day Test

The second Test match of Border-Gavaskar trophy is getting more interesting with each passing day. Team India has had an upper hand in the match since Day 1 and they have only bettered their performance. Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja resumed the Indian inning on Day 3 with an intent to pile up the runs. Ravindra Jadeja fell off Mitchell Starc and the Aussie pacer gave him a teasing send-off.

The Indian squad ended Day 2 with a lead of 82 runs over the Aussies with the stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja looking rock-solid. The duo was involved in a century partnership before Ajinkya Rahane was run out on the third day. Rahane scored a spectacular century giving a befitting reply to all the naysayers.

Mitchell Starc came up with a plan against Jadeja

The Indian bowlers in particular are having a gala time on Australian pitches with their balls doing all the talking. The pair of Rahane and Jadeja resumed Day 3 but the former was unfortunately run out on an individual score of 112. After getting Rahane’s wicket, Mitchell Starc came up with a plan against the daunting Ravindra Jadeja. The Aussie quick started bowling short balls to Jadeja and lured him into hitting the ball for runs.

Starc spread the field on the leg side and went on a spree of short balls against Jadeja. His plan worked perfectly as Jadeja pulled a short ball to deep mid-wicket where Cummins was waiting eagerly for the ball. Cummins juggled a bit but held on to the ball dismissing Jadeja. Starc was all pumped up after getting the wicket and gave a teasing send-off to the Indian all-rounder.

Team India was all out for 326 in their first inning getting a big lead of 131 runs. The Indian bowlers came to the party once again as they stuck to their lines and took wickets at regular intervals. Team India is looking on song to register their first win in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
