San Francisco Unicorns defeated Los Angeles Knight Riders by 21 runs in the MLC 2023 game on July 19 at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. In the SFU vs LAKR clash, all-rounder Andre Russell smashed a monstrous six off pacer Haris Rauf that covered a distance of 108 meters.
The LAKR side were in a spot of bother as they were placed at 163-5 after the 18th over while chasing a mammoth target of 213 runs against SFU. Experienced all-rounder Andre Russell and skipper Sunil Narine had set their eyes which let the hopes of the Knight Riders fans alive.

The Caribbean all-rounder had scored 28 runs off just 17 deliveries and was all set to play the kind of big shots for which he is known for. San Francisco Unicorns skipper Aaron Finch handed over the ball to Haris Rauf as they needed to defend 50 runs off the last 2 overs.
Haris Rauf tried a slower delivery but missed the execution and ended up bowling in the slot. As expected, Russell didn’t miss out on the opportunity and smashed it over the mid-wicket boundary for a gigantic 108-meter six.
Major League Cricket shared the video of the monstrous six on their official Twitter handle and wrote, “ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT METERS! Andre Russell with a SHOT TO THE MOON!”

While Haris Rauf conceded a six of his very first delivery in the penultimate over, he eventually gave away just 13 runs and made things pretty difficult for the Los Angeles Knight Riders side. They needed 37 runs off the last 6 deliveries but could only score 15 runs off Aussie all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.
Andre Russell played a stellar knock of 42 runs off just 26 deliveries while Sunil Narine scored 28 runs off just 17 balls. However, the two experienced campaigners couldn’t help their side chase down the target as the LAKR side eventually fell short by 21 runs in the MLC 2023 clash against San Francisco Unicorns.
