Whenever India’s 2011 World Cup triumph is discussed, MS Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir’s contributions are mentioned. Both played crucial knocks in the final. While Gambhir’s 97 rescued India’s innings from early trouble, Dhoni’s unbeaten 91 provided the finishing touch, sealing the title after 28 years. However, Dhoni was named Man of the Match, and social media often credits him more for the victory, and debate over their innings remains alive even today.
In the years following the World Cup, tensions emerged between the two, especially as Gambhir was sidelined from Team India under Dhoni’s captaincy. Meanwhile, the World Cup-winning duo reunited at the wedding of Rishabh Pant’s sister, Sakshi.

A picture of them posing with Pant’s family has gone viral, leaving fans delighted at the rare sight of the two legends together. These photos were uploaded on Instagram by photojournalist Palav Paliwal. In the picture, Dhoni and Gambhir can be seen alongside the bride, groom, Rishabh Pant, and his mother.
Rishabh Pant’s sister, Sakshi Pant, tied the knot with businessman Ankit Chaudhary after a nine-year relationship. The grand reception took place in Mussoorie on March 12th, with notable figures such as Indian cricket stars MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Gautam Gambhir in attendance. They were seen enjoying the celebrations, with a video of Dhoni singing Tu Jaane Na on stage with his wife, Sakshi, has gone viral on social media.
Talking about Dhoni and Gambhir, head coach Gambhir attended the wedding after leading his team to victory in the Champions Trophy on March 9 in Dubai. On the other hand, Dhoni had already joined Chennai Super Kings’ camp in Chennai but took a break from it to attend the wedding in Mussoorie.
