MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings went on to become the second most successful IPL team after defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Final of IPL 2021 on Friday. It is for the fourth time that MS Dhoni’s side has won the title.
After a disappointing last season, it has been a big turnaround for the Chennai side. The Chennai Super Kings was the first team to get eliminated in the 13th season of the India Premier League. Ever since then, Dhoni’s side never looked back and went on to finish the 2020 season on a high, with 3 wins in their last 3 matches.
The first leg of IPL 2021 was again very fruitful for the Chennai side as they managed to win 5 out of their 7 matches. Coming into the UAE, CSK became the first team to qualify for the playoffs after winning their first 4 matches.
CSK defeats KKR in the final to win their fourth IPL title
The match had started to go Kolkata’s way after their openers Shubhman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer gave a flying start to the side in the run-chase. It was then in the 11th over when the match turned on its head. Shardul Thakur struck twice in the over and removed the dangerous-looking Venkatesh Iyer.
In the same over, he tricked Nitish Rana, who had just come into the crease, to give an easy catch to Faf at mid-on. KKR then kept on losing wickets and never came back in the match. They lost 8 wickets in the span of just 34 runs. CSK, in the end, won convincingly by 27 runs.
MS Dhoni & Sakshi expecting their second child
Dhoni’s wife Sakshi was seen in the entire UAE leg, cheering for CSK from the stands. In the Final as well, she was present in the stands and was cheering for the Super Kings throughout the match. After CSK won the final, the families of all the players entered the ground to celebrate the victory.
Sakshi as well was seen celebrating the win with her husband. She entered the ground and hugged MS. Their daughter Ziva was also quick to join her parents for a group hug.’

It was seen that Sakshi was wearing a loose yellow dress which led to speculations regarding her being pregnant. Later, it was cleared by Suresh Raina’s wife Priyanka that Sakshi is 4 months pregnant. She confirmed that the couple is expecting their second child in the upcoming year.
