MS Dhoni announces the venue where he’ll play his last IPL match

MS Dhoni hinted in a live event while interacting with some of his fans that he will continue to play in the next IPL season as well. He revealed about where he wants to play his last match while answering some of the fans’ questions. MS Dhoni is currently in the UAE, leading the CSK side in the second leg of IPL 2021. He, along with Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir and Shardul Thakur interacted Live with fans on CSK’s official YouTube channel and that’s when MS hinted about his availability for the next season.

MS Dhoni reveals where he wants to play his last IPL game

While interacting with MS Dhoni in the online event, a fan asked MS regarding his selection for 15 August as the date of his retirement. The fan also informed Dhoni about her disappointment of not being able to attend MS Dhoni’s last international game which would have been the farewell game for him. MS, in reply to his fan, said that there could not have been a better day than Independence day to announce retirement. He went on to reveal that he wants to play his last game at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He said that the fans can still bid him farewell when he plays his last IPL game in there.

“It can’t be a better day than that -15th August. When it comes to the farewell, you can always come and see me play for CSK and that can be my farewell game. You will still get that opportunity to bid me farewell. Hopefully, we’ll come to Chennai and will play my last game over there and I can meet all my fans,” Dhoni said.

What got the fans rejoicing after Dhoni said this is the fact if he plans to play his last game in Chennai, it means he will be available for the next IPL season as well. The CSK fans were seen prolific on the social media platforms after this as they went on the post about their happiness.

CSK is already into the Playoffs

Though MS himself has not been any near to his best as far as his batting is concerned he has taken CSK to the Playoffs of IPL 2021. CSK was the first team to qualify for the playoffs this season, followed by DC and RCB. The yellow army will now play their last league stage match against the PBKS side which will also decide the final position of CSK in the points table. Currently, CSK occupies the second spot in the standings.
