Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has made it clear that he wants Ravindra Jadeja in the CSK squad ahead of the IPL 2023 auction.
Things were not looking good between CSK and Ravindra Jadeja and there were speculations that the Chennai-based franchise will release Jadeja or exchange him with other players as they were in talks with other franchisees.
Dhoni doesn’t want to release Jadeja from the CSK squad
As per Times of India, MS Dhoni has made it clear to the CSK management that Ravindra Jadeja cannot be released. Earlier, Jadeja was declared as the captain of CSK for the 2022 season but after the terrible performance of the CSK side, he was sacked as captain midway as Dhoni was back as the captain.
MS has always been a great supporter of Ravindra Jadeja right from his beginning days in the Indian Team. Jadeja joined CSK in 2012 and was bought back in 2018 as the team came back after a two-year ban. The all-rounder was also the highest-paid player last season for CSK as he was retained for a whopping 16 crores.
Times of India has also reported that Chennai Super Kings is likely to release Adam Milne & Chris Jordan. Milne got injured after being available for the first few games and was replaced by Sri Lanka’s young pacer Matheesa Pathirana. On the other hand, Chris Jordan was too expensive at the death and didn’t serve the purpose for which he was bought.
Jadeja has been rated very highly amongst CSK and the management has always been supportive of the players. However, sacking the captaincy midway didn’t go well with Jadeja. Right after being sacked from captaincy, the allrounder was reported as injured and didn’t take part in the later half of IPL 2022 season.

There were speculations of Jadeja being traded in exchange of Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur from the Delhi Capitals. All the franchises have been asked to share the list of players that they want to retain for the IPL 2023 edition latest by November 15. BCCI is looking to organize an auction for the next season in December.
