Caribbean opening batsman Evin Lewis will be looking for a new franchise in the upcoming IPL auction after Lucknow Supergiants released him following his sub-par IPL 2022 season.

However, the batsman has hogged the limelight a couple of days before the event after he named Rohit Sharma as the best batter in the history of Indian Premier League.

Though the Hitman sure is one of the better batsmen to have graced the tournament, Evin Lewis picking him as the best-ever IPL batsman has left most of the people who follow the tournament shell-shocked.

Rohit is one of the most successful Indian batsmen in the tournament history with 5879 runs (avg 30, SR 129) under his belt and as a matter of fact, boasts of the most gold. He has won the IPL trophy 5 times with Mumbai Indians and once with Deccan Chargers (2009).

Regardless, Evin Lewis picking him ahead of the likes of Suresh Raina, Chris Gayle, King Kohli, etcetera is hard to digest as all of them have made more substantial contribution to the IPL with the bat in hand.

Here are a couple of tweets bashing Lewis for his opinion:
