On Sunday, Rishabh Pant’s India B team clinched a 76-run victory over India A in the Duleep Trophy. Shubman Gill’s side faced a daunting chase of 275 runs and faltered, losing wickets at regular intervals. Apart from KL Rahul, no batter managed to stay at the crease for long. Towards the end, the 8th-wicket partnership between Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep frustrated India B team.

Hilarious banter between Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav

As the partnership between Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep began to build, Rishabh Pant, standing behind the stumps, playfully engaged in some friendly sledging. The India B skipper started pulling Kuldeep’s leg. During the 44th over of the innings, the wicketkeeper was heard saying, “Isko single lene do, iske liye bahut tagda plan banaya hai” (Let him take a single; we’ve got a solid plan for him).

Kuldeep Yadav, amused by the banter, replied, “Kyu pareshan kar raha hai yaar” (Why are you troubling me, man?). Pant followed with: “Out ho ja yaar” (Just get out, man). On the fifth ball of the over, Kuldeep hit a four, and their banter continued. Pant called, “Sab upar rehna, single ke liye” (Bring the field in for singles), to which Kuldeep replied, “Main nahin lunga” (I won’t take one). Pant quipped back, “Kha le maa kasam nahin lega” (Swear on your mother that you won’t).

Both Rishabh Pant and Kuldeep Yadav share a good bond, as Kuldeep plays under Rishabh in the Delhi Capitals team in the IPL. They have been teammates in the India team since 2017 and were also part of the squad that won the T20 World Cup in Barbados.

Talking about the match, Kuldeep Yadav’s gritty innings lasted 56 balls, during which he scored 14 runs. Akash Deep’s quickfire cameo of 43 runs off 42 balls momentarily panicked the India B team. However, Musheer Khan emerged as the hero for India B, dismissing the dangerous Akash with a sharp run-out. With Akash’s dismissal, India A was bundled out for 198 runs, falling 75 runs short of the target.
