PAK vs NZ: Aleem Dar grimaces in pain as Waseem Jr. unintentionally hits him with a throw

Umpire Aleem Dar met with an unfortunate incident in the game between Pakistan and New Zealand at the National Stadium, Karachi as he got hit by Mohammad Wasim Jr’s throw.

Mohammad Wasim aimed a throw toward the stumps but the ball eventually hit Aleem Dar as he couldn’t keep his eye on the ball.

During the 36th over of the New Zealand innings bowled by Haris Rauf, Glenn Phillips flicked the fourth delivery of the over toward the square leg region. Mohammad Wasim threw the ball back towards the bowler’s end in order to create a run-out opportunity but the ball hit umpire Aleem Dar who was at that time looking towards the batters.

The throw hit Aleem Dar’s right leg and he straightaway looked in some pain. He flung the bowler’s sweater that he was carrying to the turf. Pakistan bowler Naseem Shah quickly came towards Aleem and massaged his right leg of Dar while he got sprayed on his leg so as to get rid of the pain. On the other hand, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam and other fielders saw the funny side of the incident as they had a light laugh.

Meanwhile, Devon Conway scored a ton off just 92 deliveries including 13 fours and a solitary six while skipper Kane Williamson played a crucial knock of 85 runs hitting ten boundaries which allowed the Kiwis to put on a competitive total of 261 runs in the second ODI at the National Stadium, Karachi.

However, the New Zealand middle order choked after a great start as Pakistan left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with four crucial wickets while giving away just 38 runs off his 10 overs.

During the chase, Babar Azam remained the lone warrior as he played a vital knock of 79 but couldn’t take his team home as all other batters failed to deliver and the Pakistan side fell short by 79 runs. Tim Southee and Ish Sodhi took a couple of wickets each and squared the series by 1-1.
