Prithvi Shaw Involved In A Fight With Hotel Staff During Ranji Trophy

Prithvi Shaw made a thrilling comeback to competitive cricket after returning from the ban. BCCI had banned him for the 8 months after he was failed in a dope test. The 20-year old tested positive with Terbutaline, a substance which usually uses in cough syrups. Shaw’s ban ended on 15 November and made a return for Mumbai cricket team in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Mumbai cricketer impressed viewers with his performance in the domestic T20 trophy. Shaw played 5 innings in the SMAT 2019 in which he scored 240 runs with an average of 48. Shaw reached the fifty 3 times in the tournament. However, the Mumbai team couldn’t qualify for the semi-final as their net run-rate was below Karnataka who had the points equal to Mumbai.

Now, Prithvi Shaw is playing Ranji Trophy for Mumbai and he has continued his outstanding form. In Mumbai’s first match of this season, Shaw smashed a double century against Baroda. In first innings, Shaw scored 66 off 62 balls and in the second innings he made 202 off 179 balls. He played with a strike rate of 100+ in both innings.

However, ahead of the 2nd match of Mumbai in this season, Prithvi Shaw has created some trouble for him. Sources said Shaw and his Mumbai teammate Eknath Kerkar are reported for serious disciplinary issues during the opening match. Shaw and wicketkeeper are involved in an ugly spat with the hotel staff.

Alongside, both players coach of the team Vinayak Samant is also under scanner. Reports are that Mumbai players had objected to coach’s team management. MCA had asked the players to provide a story from their side individually. After the incident, MCA has put the team selection for the 2nd match of the season on hold. Mumbai is scheduled to play against Railways from 25 December.
